Today was my day off. Today is my Sunday. I didn't do anything. I feel guilty in a way and in a way I don't feel guilty. I want to get the best out of life. I want to save money, I want to be in a romantic relationship with someone and I want to do a lot of traveling like I did during my teenage years. I would like to own a dog again and I would like to pay tithes in church. I am working on making all of these things possible. I am going to own a home and a brand new car some day too. I would also like to go to the movies on a weekly basis because I love movies, music and pop culture. I would also love to see two or three concerts a year. Life is beautiful and so was the weather today too. I have moved since my last post. My roommate turned out to be not so great of a fit for me. I do miss a friend I had while I was living with my roommate, but she told me that if my roommate and I ever fell out that she would choose her, so with that said, oh well. Let's move on. I'm sitting here listening to Barbra Streisand and just enjoying the evening. Someone on facebook just sort of offended me, but they didn't mean anything by it, I will just untag myself from the post and move on. "Be good to yourself and others". God bless. db

A Day In The Life of Me

Sitting here with my roommate listening to music and listening to her talk about homes for sale and for rent in Arizona. This is my Saturday. The day went alright I guess. Didn't do much today. Took the dog (Roxy) for a short walk and then back home. Life is good. It could be worse, I know, and it could be better, I know that too. We were worried about our dog, but she is doing much better. I still think she has some pain, she will cry out every now and then, but for the most part she is doing great. She never really lost her appetite, she did however stop drinking water for a while. I am so glad she is feeling better. I used to think people who loved their dogs like they were humans were crazy. I see now that your dog is really apart of the family. I was deathly afraid of dogs for years and didn't understand the love people had for dogs. I understand it very well now. The relationship I have with my dog is the best relationship I have ever had with any living being. No arguments, no lying, no cheating, it's the best. Dogs are definitely MANS BEST FRIEND.

I have not blogged in a while. I am home from work. Work is where I spend most of my time these days and I actually don't mind. I used to hate work. I wanted to be a singer, songwriter, poet, etc., etc.. I am all of those things, you just don't know me. I am all of those things and I'm proud of that, I also have to make a living. I am proud of myself today. I am hopefully setting myself up to live really well in the future. Right now I am listening to music, really soothing music and drinking wine. Life is not bad. I think I finally have my blog set up the way I want it. Five years away from 40. What have I learned? A lot, and I am still learning, thank God. Well, it is almost time for me to go to bed, so I guess I will call it a night. Goodnight all, and to you, whoever you are and wherever you are, Goodnight.

I don't think a country like Haiti, who has been hit with such devastation should be called looters and rioters just because people are going in super markets and getting food. I don't think that is fair. This country was poor before the earthquake and now the problem is even worse and I just don't think it is fair to say that these people are looting, rioting and that they are scavengers. I am sure these people are upset, worried, scared, hungry, thirsty and some may even be delirious at this point and I just don't think it is fair the way the media is talking about them. Walk a mile in their shoes.

A lot of people felt like they lost a brother when Michael Jackson died. I am one of those people. When I was young of course I imitated Michael as did every other kid. Michael is the reason I sing, write, engineer and act today. First time I saw him was Motown 25 and I thought to myself, I have to do that, I want to do what he is doing the rest of my life. So, I went out and bought books and videos on him over the years and just became his biggest fan. He was always apart of my life, his music got me through being at home alone when my mother had to work at night, got me through friends being killed in the street, got me through me being sick all the time. I would watch his dvd's and try to work as hard as he did. When I heard he had died it just brought back a truck load of memories, how me and my now deceased little sister would be singing and she was my background singer and dancer. I remember my mother telling me she stood out in the rain to get tickets so that we could see him in concert. I mean Micheal shaped the music for the last 40 some years, music would be nothing like it is if it had not been for Michael. I just feel like part of my world is gone. I know some people don't give a damn, he wasn't related to them, so it's like what the hell. But, there will never be a star like that again, he changed our whole world, from every corner of this world, people knew who he was. No other artist is known like that, no other artist did what he did. He is the reason african americans are on mtv and vh1, hell if Michael had never sang we probably wouldn't even have Barack Obama as president. Michael Jackson was out of this world and really too big for this world. There's a lot more I could say about him, but some stuff I would rather just know and not even share. I did go to neverland as an adult twice and it was the most peaceful place I ever visited. No fighting, no sirens, no bullshit. I didn't know him, but he was a major part of my life and damn, he's gone forever. My little sister is gone and now my idol, my very first idol is gone.

I am an intelligent 32 years old woman and I can't believe the things the people who were voting for Hillary are saying.

These so called democrats dislike Barack Obama so much that they would rather have republicans in the White House for another 8 years. To me this means you don't care about any of our soldiers, their families, your families, the homeless, and healthcare, none of it. All that you pretended to care about when Hillary was campaigning, in all honestly you don't give a damn about. All you care about is yourself and what you want. You don't care about getting the White House back in democrat’s hands. Now that is true hate, sacrifice your life, your children's lives and everyone around you because you can't have it your way. Wow. America still has a lot of growing up to do.

If we continue on this path we will never get out of Iraq and we will definitely be in a recession.

I am the granddaughter of sharecroppers and the daughter of a mother who experienced racism first hand, picked cotton and chopped cotton in the backwoods of Mississippi and Memphis TN, who is now and has been a data entry supervisor for the last 23 years. To watch her reaction to Obama being the Democratic Nominee was amazing. Less than 500 years ago we were slaves and then we had to fight for our right to vote, we have not been voting 100 years yet and we already have a man being called the Democratic Presidential Nominee. Our families, both on my mother's side and my father's side have served this country, even me and now we can see the results. This is a great day in African American, American and world history.

Another senseless killing of an African American young male. A nineteen year old young man was killed by a police officer, claiming he had a gun. The gun was not recovered. This happened the other day. Back in the day (slavery and Jim Crow days) it was mostly white people killing us, now we're killing each other, the police are killing us and whoever else wants to kill us. It's like it's open season on young black males, the good ones and the bad ones. These people are relatives of someone, they are brothers, fathers, sons, cousins, etc., etc., etc.. They are not dogs in the street, as a matter of fact they would probably be treated better if they were dogs. You have all these animals rights people standing up for animals and nobody is standing up for these young mens' rights.

Somebody needs to do something, or better yet tell me what to do and I will do it. I am fed up and another riot is not the answer, another march is not the answer. Somebody help me please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am also fed up with the way the country is being ran, but that is another blog and another day.
